Darius Hsu
President
Hello! My name is Darius Hsu and I am a current sophomore at Taipei American School. It is my utmost pleasure to serve as your head chair of General Assembly 1. Never would I have thought of joining MUN until my 8th-grade history teacher asked me to give it a try since I talked a lot in her class. Ever since then, this activity has become a genuine passion of mine. What I love most about MUN is the community on-island. Initially, conferences were filled with anxiety and awkwardness, but over time, familiar faces made it special. For newer delegates, take this opportunity to step forward and make that first move, whether it be a speech, an amendment, or even just a POI. If the first day doesn't go as you imagined or hoped, that's ok. I promise the second day of debate always gets better, as you get to know delegates and your chairs. I encourage delegates to spend adequate time understanding both issues discussed this year at GA1. As we approach a decade of heightened conflict, geopolitical tension, and political extremism, it is crucial to evaluate this year's theme on multilateral collaborations. Aside from being a hardcore MUN enthusiast, I've also recently returned to my reading phase. Let me know if you have any book recs! :) See you all in May!

Somnath Adak
Deputy President
Hello NEMUN 25 delegates!
My name is Somnath Adak, a junior from International Bilingual School at Hsinchu Science Park (IBSH), and it is my utmost honor to be serving as your co-chair for GA1. This year's NEMUN will be my twelfth conference. I will make sure that the conference is a comfortable experience for both new and experienced delegates! HSINMUN was my first conference, and I remember feeling scared and completely clueless about the procedures of MUN. However, as I went to more conferences, I started to gain confidence to express my opinions and contribute to the fierce debates of different committees. My MUN journey has given me new insight into the ongoing problems that plague our world, and partaking in MUN conferences means that my ideas and voice are heard. At the end of the day, MUN is a place where you can gain valuable experience, grow, and learn, and I will try my best to help you enjoy NEMUN 25 and make it fun, memorable, and valuable to you. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns. I look forward to seeing all of you this May!
